Erin Leigh Pasternak (b. 1986, Calgary AB) is a practicing multidisciplinary artist presently based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
With an early start in creative education, Erin studied Classical and Contemporary Piano from 1994-2004, obtaining her Grade 8 Practical and Advanced Rudiments with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Erin received a certificate in 2004 for her studies in the International Baccalaureate Visual Arts programme, and continued her post-secondary art studies with the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary from 2004-06. After a move to the west coast, Erin graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (B.FA) in May 2009 from the Emily Carr University of Art + Design (Vancouver, BC), with a major in Photography.
Erin specializes in digital and analog photography, documentation & archiving and portrait work. Her ongoing personal work is auto-ethnographic in nature, concerned with negotiating notions of identity, patterns, people, nature and culture.
